spacing between header and post on home page

  I’m hoping this will be a quick resolve, but somehow on my home page I seem to now have spacing between the header (copyright notice) and my latest post.
  I never had this before and thinking a may have toggle a setting incorrectly.

  Can anyone reach out and cure this for me? :)

  Hi there, the empty space appears to be where the slideshow is supposed to go, as you can see in the code:

</div><!-- end slideshow -->

  If you don’t have a slideshow, just uncheck the option “Yes! I’d like to enable the optional home page slideshow” under Appearance > Theme Options, here:

  https://aimeecandelaphoto.wordpress.com/wp-admin/themes.php?page=theme_options

  Let me know if that does the trick!

  I actually thought I had to check this to enable the slideshow in my recent post, as it wasn’t showing up. I now understand it’s for showing a slideshow in the homepage only, not elsewhere.
