spacing between paragraphs

How do I set the format or whatever so that I will get proper paragraph spacing from one paragraph to the next. As it is, when I hit “return” at the end of a paragraph, the cursor goes down only one line instead of two.

Are you using the Visual editor or the Text editor when you compose your posts?
If you’re using the Visual editor, a single return will automatically insert a space between paragraphs as determined by your site’s theme stylesheet. In the Text editor, you just simply need to double return to add a space between paragraphs.

Thank you, Ms. C. As is often the case with WordPress, the problem seemed to take care of itself, but your information was helpful; I really didn’t realize the difference between visual and text. (I work in visual.)
