Spacing in Cutline

  • Unknown's avatar

    I am using Cutline theme, and I am having trouble setting spacing around images and paragraphs. For example, in this post: http://myownbackyard.wordpress.com/2007/05/25/first-party/, the image at the bottom of the post (the group of people) is cut off on some display settings, because it is one line too high and is placed beside (instead of below) the image before it. I have tried adding paragraph breaks (in Visual mode and in Code mode) to move it down, but when I save the post it reverts back to the way it was – the paragraph breaks go away. I have changed the alignment settings on the image, but when I save the post it reverts back to the way it was. Is there something I’m missing? I’m frustrated that my editing is being removed when I save the post. Is this a problem with the theme, or my ignorance, or something else?

    Perhaps this will help http://faq.wordpress.com/2006/09/23/cutline-and-images/
    Also I believe you would have to change the code to add more “padding” around the image to achieve what you want i.e. space between the image and text. To get a blank line between paragraphs you can try using <br /> or &nbsp;

    Thanks Timethief! How do you find time for blogging in between posting helpful comments? :)

    Update FYI: the
    method also disappeared when I saved the post – I clicked “save,” then “view site” (and the spacing wasn’t fixed), then “edit post” again, and the editing was gone. The &nbsp method worked, but still strangely. The first time I saved and viewed the post, it actually inserted the text “&nbsp” into the post. So I went back in to edit the code, and those characters were replaced by blank spaces, and it looked right this time. Perhaps I need to use a different theme… seems this one has a mind of its own. But I think I got it looking right – thanks for the help!
