Spacing in post does not get saved
-
I’m trying to make spaces between my paragraphs, but whenever I make those spaces and press “save”, my changes don’t stay. So there are still no spaces in between my paragraphs. I tried clearing the cache and using firefox, but nothing is changing. Is there another formatting glitch in wordpress I am not aware about? Please let me know.

Okay, I put some dashes for now to denote the paragraphs, but I still can’t save the spaces, you can see my recent post, that’s the one I was having trouble with. Let me know if you can help.

I take it you need help with spacing between paragraphs.
If so then this will help:

See also:New Line Without Space Above
Hitting the Enter (Return) key will end the paragraph you are writing and start a new one. If you want to start a new line without creating a new paragraph, press the Shift key while hitting Enter. http://en.support.wordpress.com/visual-editor/ -
No, the problem is not knowing HOW to make a space between paragraphs, its that my formatting is not SAVED when I do format these paragraphs.
I’m trying the first link, but the tips don’t seem to be working…

I did understand exactly what you stated. You want an additional blank line between paragraphs that the theme is not coded to provide. If this http://wpbtips.wordpress.com/category/space-between-paragraphs/ is not working for you than please contact Staff http://en.support.wordpress.com/contact/

Yeah, there’s definitely something funky going on. Even when I try this in HTML, the changes don’t save. It’s acting kind a weird. Thanks. I’ll contact staff directly.

What theme are you using? I’ve noticed that CSS shorthand has wonky effects on certain themes in certain browsers.

If spaces are not appearing between paragraphs, it is typically because the editor is in “div” mode.
Open the post that has the problem in the editor, select everything in the text window, then select “paragraph” from the format pulldown at the left end of the lower row of tool bars and it should straighten things out for you.

@zenassassin
ollinmorales is using Paperpunch and your are using Andrea but I am not convinced that this is a Theme related issue at all. I believe this is an issue with the TinyMCE editor. Please contact Staff http://en.support.wordpress.com/contact/ -
I just checked the source code on your blog, and the paragraphs are definitely getting wrapped in div tags. Do as I suggest above and it will fix things.

yay! That worked. Thank you thesacredpath. Any idea on how that happens? I don’t remember clicking on the “format” button. But maybe it was because I copied and pasted the content from an e-mail? I’m just curious so people reading this can know how to avoid it.
Thanks timethief as well!

Sometimes it happens of you copy and paste something into the editor from a different source, such as from the web, and sometimes it just mysteriously happens for unknown reasons. The easiest way to keep track is to look at the bottom left edge of the text area. When all is right, you should see a reference to something like “path p”.
The main thing is you are back up and running again and you are welcome.

I’m having the same problem but I don’t have a paragraph option in the toolbars on the left page. What should I do?
Thanks.
