Hi there,
What do you mean phishing? Your comment settings require people to provide their username and email address in order to comment on your site.
And if anyone receives an email after making a comment it’s because they signed up for email notifications from new comments.
Please provide the exact text of the “phishing” email, and the address FROM which it is sent, and I can look into this further, but there is nothing wrong with the comment form on your site.

Those emails are coming from a @outlook.com address, not a @wordpress.com address, so those aren’t being generated by our system. There is also nothing on your site that could possibly trigger these. I left a test comment to make sure, and did not receive any emails from your site.
Is it only this one person receiving these emails when they try to comment? If so, it’s more likely that they have some malware in their browser or on their computer that is sending out these emails when triggered by specific actions, like submitting the comment form.
I’d advise this person to immediately install a tool like Malwarebytes and do a malware scan of their computer, and then to update all their passwords on all accounts once they’re sure all malware has been removed from their machine. They should also report those outlook email address directly to Microsoft so those accounts can be shut down.
But this is definitely not something that’s originating from your site, so on our end there’s nothing that can be done.

thank you so much for looking into this issue and doing the test. i have forwarded your instructions to carole and hope that this takes care of her spam issue also. i am relieved that it does not originate with my blog.
