Spam

  I got about 8-10 spam comments just in the last few hours. Is there a problem somewhere? Akismet is not catching them at all

  Hi @teric. Sorry about the trouble, and thanks for reporting the issue. If a lot of the spam comments have a common string of text, I suggest adding that string to your blacklist:

  http://en.support.wordpress.com/settings/discussion-settings/#comment-blacklist

  Also, please mark those comments as spam instead of just deleting them. Akismet tries to learn from the pattern of comments that are marked as spam and marking them can help prevent this in the future. For more information about dealing with unwanted comments, visit:

  Thank you for your response. I did mark them as spam. The weird ink was, they were all from different people and partly in a foreign or nonsense English.
  I changed my settings to private and suspended posting for awhile in hopes that things will cool down.
