  can I reply to un-spammed messages and not have my reply written on the site?

  Hi there,

  No, you can’t. If you reply to a comment, your reply will also appear on the site, on the post/page where the comment was left. Whether or not the comment was previously flagged as spam before you replied to it makes no difference – once a spam comment is manually un-spammed it behaves exactly the same as any other approved comment on the site.
