  All of a sudden I am getting hit with tons of spam. On two occasions I have had to erase over 30 spam messages. I am wondering if it is hurting my seo. Thoughts?

  I’m sorry for the inconvenience. Instead of trashing comments, please mark them as spam to help train Akismet to catch those. Once you’ve marked them as spam, they won’t be visible on your WordPress.com site.

  To quickly moderate comments, you can use keyboard shortcuts with the “Enable keyboard shortcuts for comment moderation” setting enabled in Users -> Personal Settings.
