Spam

All my comments go to spam without my reviewing them to approve or not. I can’t go into the spam queue to un-spam them because they are automatically deleted. This was not always the case, just recently. Can I turn Akismet OFF? This does not encourage people to return and comment!

Hi there,
Could you please send me a link to a post or page where you’re expecting to receive comments? I’ll be happy to look into this for you. :-)

The blog url above works. It’s the home page. Thanks!

I currently don’t see any spam comments on your blog. Here you could find the comments on your blog.
Please review this guide to learn more on how to change your discussion settings.

Would you please leave a comment so I can see if it’s working properly? As I said even when I check every day for comments, the comments are deleted automatically and the spam count goes up, but there is nothing in the spam queue to un-spam. And yes I have comments enabled. for moderation, etc.
-
My question was why do all the comments go directly to spam and get deleted before I can review them? I checked the guides you rec’d and nothing int here about turning spam guard OFF so I can check/moderate them myself. Thank you.

From Discussion settings options:”(These settings may be overridden for individual articles.)”
Where is the setting for individual articles? I want to check to see if comments are off for a post, but nothing in the edit page says anything about settings for the post I’m looking at.

kardotim, did you read my question to begin with?
“I currently don’t see any spam comments on your blog. Here you could find the comments on your blog.”I know where to find the comments. I said all comments are deleted including spam. Nothing in the spam queue to unspam.
I had a bunch of comments the first week, then nothing all 63 comments went to spam, got deleted, and could not even review them.

There is no way to disable Akismet on WordPress.com blogs. Keep in mind that we do automatically delete spam comments which have either been reported by several WordPress.com users or are duplicates of comments that you have already marked as spam.
It looks like you have a few comments now. Is there a specific post or page that you’d like me to test on?
-
OK, I;ll stopp looking for that command then :) Can it be disabled on self-hosted blog using WP?
If you would, please leave a test comment on this one, thanks a bunch!

Yes, that’s possible. There are no restrictions if you setup a self-hosted WordPress.org blog instead of a WordPress.com blog, but there are some added responsibilities. We have hosting recommendations at the following link if you are interested.
I also left a test comment on your blog post.
