Spam advert in blog.

That’s weird. I found it very easily just through the details on this thread:

Sadly I don’t think the ad in question is anything out of the ordinary for wordpress.com nowadays. It’s always worth reporting them just so they’re aware that not everyone is OK with them, and to try and put them off showing even more, but these kind of ads have been appearing for months now with no real sign of their incidence decreasing.

When I run into one of those “you win click here” pieces of crap I never go back to that web site – so James – your new ad system is going to depress visitors to sites on WordPress.COM

@ auxclass, it would not put me off going to the site its not there fault, its just that someone might click it and wonder whats wrong with their pc.

auxclass, we don’t plan to run ads like that, and we appreciate reports if they ever sneak through.

@dribblingpensioner – does not matter how an ad got on a site – there are certain types of behavior that I just will not tolerate

This has been a learning experience for me.

@dribblingpensioner – thank you for reporting it to the support team on WordPress.

I don’t like that ad either, and too be honest with you all, I had no idea that was spam until I read it here. I wouldn’t know what spam looked like, unless it was sitting in a can in front of me. So, I appreciate your efforts in reporting this.

Maybe it’s time to upgrade to a no ad blog.
