Spam and Statistics

Hi all, can anyone tell me whether the spam numbers are included in the country breakdown for stats? I’m assuming so but not sure.
Also I assume that anyone reading posts from Google Reader will not appear in the stats unless they actually open up the post?

    Thanks

WP.com says they eliminate spam hits from your stats entirely. and RSS views aren’t included at all as far as I’m aware any more.

As I understand it, if the spam is from identifiable bots, the spam is not counted in stats. If the spam is from a live person then there is no way to block that from getting into the stats. At least that is what I remember hearing at one point. I’ve never seen any change in stats when I’ve deleted 40 or so spams by live persons all at the same time.

Thank you both for your feedback….appreciate the help. Good tip to check the stats after deleting spam.
