Spam attached to imagaes in gallery

  I wish to remove comment option on individual images posted in a gallery.
  Am getting a lot of spam (500+ per week) attached to the images which I presume is via this comment feature.
  The page that the gallery is in has its comments box unchecked but this does not stop the spam.

  Hi there, Commenting in the Gallery takes its settings from your site’s global discussion settings. Changing the comment setting for each post or page does not affect commenting on an already uploaded image.

  Since you’ve already uploaded those images, you’ll need to edit each image in the WP Admin Media Library to remove the ability to comment on them in the Gallery. Remember to save your changes.

  If any spam comment makes it way through to your Pending comment section, please mark it as spam so that our anti-spam software learns.

  Going forward you may wish to consider turning off comments globally on your site and then enable it prior to publishing each post or page.
