Spam attached to Images that have been deleted from a Post

  Hello –

  I find that spam is routinely posted to my blog. Okay – the anti-spam tool catches it . But here is the thing.

  These are not spam comments connected to a specific post. Rather they are spam connected to a picture attachment within a post. I took the step of swapping the image out of the post. So the image is no longer visible on the post itself. Yet the spam continues.

  I went back into the image files folder ( you know images uploaded from my PC to my blog, and found the image is still there. It isn’t visible on the post itself, but is still in the image folder. Yet I cannot delete it.

  What can I do?
