spam bots infesting my subscriber list – likely most of my over 9000 subscribers

  How can I eliminate spam bots from my subscriber list? How can I keep them from getting on the list in the first place? They prevent my real subscribers from getting new post notifications in their IN BOX – at best, it goes to their SPAM folder.
