Spam – can anyone explain please?

    I don’t have a problem as such – I am just puzzled.

    When I look at my stats page, in the referrers section, every so often, I get a site come up that refers to mine repeatedly for a day or so. The first couple of times I clicked on it, and it led to a site that couldn’t possibly be linking to mine, and came to the conclusion that this is some kind of spam.

    Now, it doesn’t make any difference to me, except that it messes up my page views and visits – especially as quite often the link will just disappear and then it just looks as though I have had way more page views on my home page than I really have.

    But what really confuses me is – what is the point? What are the spammers getting from doing this?

    Can anyone explain this please?

    Ah, no, I didn’t :( Just ignorance I am afriad, I didn’t know it was called that.
