spam comment resulted in blog page disappearing

  Hi – I logged in this afternoon to check on my site, and noticed there was a comment pending. When I went to look at it, I saw that it was some kind of spam, so I deleted the comment. Then I went to “visit site”, and noticed that my “News” page was missing on the menu. (The News page is my blog page.) I went into Appearance –> Menu and saw that it was no longer listed in my menu, so I re-added it and now it seems fine.

  Is there an explanation for why this might have happened? I’d like to have visitors able to leave comments (at least valid ones) but not if there’s a risk of interfering with the actual site appearance.
