  I continue to receive spam comments on my website and receive emails which ask me to moderate them. However, when I click the link accompanying the email it states my email/username is incorrect.

  Honestly, I’d be wary of anything cases where you click an email link only to find you’re not logged into the site. Maybe close the link, go to your site and login directly, and see whether there are indeed comments waiting for moderation. If you see the same comments there, okay. If you don’t, I’d recommend changing your password and possibly adding 2FA to your site.
