Spam comments??

    How do I know if a comment that is left on my blog is spam or a genuine comment? Would they appear the same??

    The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    These days people are being hired to create bogus blog comments. In the beginning it may be hard to discern spam trackbacks, pings and comment but it won’t take long before you can discern the differences between legitimate comments and spam. Where most newbies go wrong is that they have such a strong desire to get comments and a lack of knowledge about how few are really received (1 out of every 790 – 1000 visitors leaves a comment) that they eagerly post spam.

    Some tips:
    (1) Does the comment make specific reference to the blog post it was submitted to?
    (2) Does the comment contain value?
    (3) Is the link to the username a link to a commercial site?
    (4) Did the commenter use a name or handle? Or did they use a keyword instead?
    (5) When in doubt delete the link to the username and then post the comment.
