spam comments that aren’t spam

  • Unknown's avatar

There are comments being caught in the Askimet filter that aren’t spam, and when I click on the comments listed as spam, a new screen appears that says, “Goshdarnit! Something’s wrong with our server,” etc. This has been going on for a few days now and I would really like to moderate those comments.

    Advice anyone?

    Thanks.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

First thing to try is log out, clear your browser cache and cookies, restart your browser and then try again. This usually works for most dashboard related issues.

If that doesn’t work, contact staff directly at http://en.support.wordpress.com/contact/ .

I tried this and it didn’t work. Thanks for the suggestion, though!

I am also having an issue with every comment being thought as spam, but I’m not even being given the chance to see the comments anymore to see if they are or not. They are bypassing the spam queue and just being deleted/removed/something automatically. I know there are some legitimate ones being removed by Askimet because I have family asking me why I’m not letting their comments show on my blog. Even people who have had comments approved in the previous months are no longer able to have their comments show.

Akismet will automatically delete comments that it absolutely knows are spam (those from known spammer), which is why the spam count can go up without anything appearing in the spam queue for you to review.

Go to http://akismet.com and use the contact form to contact them and give them a list of the email addresses from your family and friends that have been getting caught so that they can take a look at their system. If they are getting caught, they can “whitelist” them.
