Spam count reset?

  The spam count in my dashboard has gone from well over 300,000 to 72.

  Akismet has protected your site from 72 spam comments already, but there’s nothing in your spam queue at the moment.

  What happened? Just curious

  OK, this is creepy. It’s now going back up, slowly, without anything being in my spam queue
