spam deletions

how frequently do does the system delete messages that it detects as spam? I had an artpiece appear in an internationally circulated magazine in May 2013 and noticed a very high number of messages marked as spam. I suspect they were not.
Does the system delete spam messages daily, weekly, monthly, and is there any way to retrieve them once they’ve been deleted by the system?
    Thanks

  • Hi,

Our spam filter removes comments in the spam queue after the comment is 15 days old and once removed, we’re unable to retrieve them.

While our system has a relatively low number of false positives, some may still occur. You can review the spam queue by visiting the Comments page of your dashboard, then clicking on the “Spam” link at the top (direct link: https://tonipressleysanon.wordpress.com/wp-admin/edit-comments.php?comment_status=spam ).

With comments in the spam queue, you can also manually delete them all or hover over a single comment to delete a single one or mark a false positive as “not spam”

Thanks for using WordPress.com and please let me know if you have any other questions.
