Spam email

  Good afternoon, since yesterday I received more than 300 emails of supposedly accounts I created at WordPress. I did not created any new account. It seems like spam mail. I continue to receive today emails with password of ‘accounts’.

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Hi, you’ve had an account for three years at WordPress.com, and you can’t use the same email twice for accounts. As such, I’m tagging WordPress.com staff to see if they can offer any insight into this. You’ll likely receive a response within a few hours from a staff member. :)

  I’ve checked our system and the emails you received haven’t been sent by WordPress.com. It sounds like your email address is being used by spammers to sign up for accounts on self hosted WordPress.org sites:

  WordPress.com vs. WordPress.org

  These emails aren’t being sent from our servers so I’m afraid there isn’t a way for us to stop them. You may want to check haveibeenpwned.com to see if there any instances where it may have been possible for spammers to find your email address.
