Spam (email and text)

    I need to know how spammers got a hold of my telephone number and email address and how to stop it. It’s no coincidence that within hours of creating a WordPress account, my phone is being bombarded with text offers from third party companies relating to websites and building websites, SEO, etc., and the same with my email. I never posted my email on my web page, I only added the ‘Contact Us’ page, plug-in or whatever. Please help. I don’t mind if anyone is selling my email address or phone number, I just want my cut of the profits. Otherwise, that would be unacceptable.

    Your site and domain are managed by BlueHost and not here at WordPressdotcom. What I can tell you is that if you registered a new domain without adding Privacy, all your contact information is available via the WHOIS registry.

    It is possible to add Privacy after the fact, but you’ll need to contact your domain registrar to do that.
