Spam emails from my blog

    I’m getting emails through the side bar (around 20 in one day – usually one a week or less). This happened a few months ago, and a member of your staff sorted it when I asked for help. Can you resolve it?

    Hi Juliette,

    When you say these emails are coming from your sidebar, do you mean your contact form?

    I don’t see a past ticket where this issue was addressed. Were you experiencing the exact same issue? Or had you originally included your email address in the sidebar, but switched to a contact form?

    Hi Robyn,
    Yes, the form in the sidebar. The emails arrive with “Sidebar” in the subject line.
    All of the spam received today shows a forename as the sender.
    And yes, it was the exact same issue – maybe 9 months ago? But I can’t be precise about the period.

    Thanks for the additional information.

    My suggestion is to skip the middle man (me), and go straight to the source of your spam filtering: Akismet.

    Because contact form information is filtered through Akismet, we should make sure that’s working properly on their end.

    It is included! Your site does have Akismet. Contacting their help desk directly is going to expedite an answer for you. I’m just sending you to the best support group to attack your issue :)
