Spam filter not working?

    Hi,

    The spam filter has been really good on my wordpress site for the last three years and I’ve not had any issues with it except for maybe one spam message a year (wordpress asking me to moderate a comment instead of sending straight to spam), the rest of the messages being caught and put straight into the spam folder.

    However since Sunday when I posted a blog post, I’ve been innundated with spam messages in Polish. Instead of the filter sending these messages straight to spam, WP keeps asking me to approve the comments (or not) instead. I’ve now had nearly 40 messages on the same blog post like this, and despite the fact I keep flagging them as spam, WP just doesn’t seem to ‘learn’ to send them to spam.

    It’s gettign annoying as my real notifications of messages get lost in a huge list of stupid spam messages whenever I look in notifications, and I don’t know why WP can’t learn that these messages, in Polish are spam.

    Please can anyone help? I don’t know what to do but it’s driving me nuts and I dread to think how much more spam might come in the future! :(

    Hi there,

    It appears that all those comments share the same IP address, so you can blacklist all of them by entering the IP in the Disallowed Comments list. You can find more info on how to configure this here:
