Spam from Facebook

  Filters seem to be missing a pile of spam from facebook profiles all of a sudden (started about 24 hours ago). Never a problem previously. Something up? Or just need some time to adapt/adjust?

  Are you talking about comment spam on your site? The spammers are in a 24/7 process of coming up with new ways to spam. Akismet will adapt and adjust if you mark all comment spam as comment spam.

  Just a note, remember, this is not personal. These are bots or human comment spammers and they don’t care about your site, just that it is a site they can comment on. Mark all comment spam as spam and move on with your life. Let Akismet take care of it for you. And you help others getting the same garbage on their sites. :D We love you for that! It’s a team effort.

  Thank you – informative, and uplifting. I’ll continue to mark all spam. And I’ve pulled all comments from facebook into moderation, which reduces my stress.
