Spam from @outlook.com addresses
-
I get at least two notifications a day from a spam address @outlook.com following my blog. Is someone at WordPress working to prevent this from happening? I am starting to get worried that other information is compromised with these spam followers. How do I get them to stop?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Staff are aware of the issue and are working on it. There is no security threat to your site from these spam followers. https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/weird-followers/page/2?replies=135#post-3064066

Timethief, there is no way to remove these followers since they don’t show up as a follower in the stats. I’m not sure if anyone has mentioned that before.

Hello there, Staff are removing the bogus followers directly from your site so you don’t have to.
Please see the Staff replies in this thread https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/spammy-follows-from-outlookcom-email-addresses/#post-3092975 Staff have also mentioned that they will post updates on this issue in that thread, so you may wish to subscribe to it.
If you have email notifications of new followers enabled, you may wish, until this current wave of spam followers is over, to turn off email notifications by changing your settings here: https://wordpress.com/me/notifications Click the arrow on the right and uncheck the box next to Site follows > Email.
Let us know if you have any other question about this.
