Spam in comments . . . and feedback.

    Why is there so much more spam all of a sudden? The increase is significant enough to wonder about, thus my inquiry. Fortunately, you recently made it possible to delete all spam in the comments section (though not the Feedback page) at one time. Thank you so much for doing that.

    What I find particularly interesting is on the Feedback page. Occasionally, one spam shows up there. This morning there were 16; I have never had that many in there at one time.

    Anyway, I am aware of the Akismet system. So, it’s quite possible this will shift soon once it can pick up some of this stuff.

    I have a wordpress.com site. I know it is possible to delete all comments at once in the comment section. However, I have nearly 94,000 pieces of spam in the feedback section now and how in the world do I clean that up? Right now I can only move 20 pieces to the trash at a time.

    I don’t look at the feedback section, frankly. I think it existed for two years before I bothered with it.

    Akismet has been having issues lately, that’s for sure. It went down entirely for a brief period a few weeks ago. Just keep flagging the spam as spam.
