Spam-like links in my referring links section

So, on my site stats, I keep getting weird links in my referring links section. If I click on them, they take me to advertising sites, with no links or info about my blog of any kind. How do they get on there? Is there something I can do to block or stop it? Thanks.

If you look in the sticky post section (yellow) at the top of the main forum page, you will find an announcement about referral spam.
