Spam question…

  Ok so Akismet says this
  Akismet has caught 3 spam for you since you first installed it.
  (Before that it had said 0, and when I came on now I see this)

  However when I look below (Dashboard–>Comments–>Akismet spam…, it only shows One of the 3 comments….. So my question is:

  1. Is that just a sampling of one of the 3 spams caught? Or If I identify it as spam, then askimnet would have caught 4?
  2. If the answer to 1 is no, then where are the other 2 spam comments? Is it so obvious that they are spam that I can’t even see them and hence get automatically deleted?
  3. I think I read somewhere that it says spam is meant to have multiple links…. However this spam is just a bunch of characters: (Ill show it to you so you know what im talking about):

  …..Now I thought “spam” meant something that someone is advertising in order to make money that you dont want… I can get if the above is just a bunch of jiberish hence its just unwanted but is it spam?

  Oh and I know that above comment is giving a website(havent clicked on it yet) but I just assumed that in order to comment you need to provide something… so I am guessed that the website wasnt real… (Anyway thinking about it now, I suppose that would be where they want you to click (to make money?!?) but yeah)… I was thinking something along the lines of….. “Omg youre so hot please click here on my website to see naked pictures of me for free” or “Need a new car loan… We at “toolRu” we can extend ur loan by giving us ur credit card details… click here for more info”

  Ok I snooped around the akismet site and found that gem above… so I guess that answers one of my questions.. as it was probably just 3 exact comments..
