This note is on my admin page: “Akismet has protected your site from 3 spam comments” …but only 2 comments showed in spam. Anyone know why I might have lost the third? (I don’t have akismet as a widget)Stats Question
Is there a way to scroll back in time to get *specific* stats further than “yesterday.” Specific stats show for today and yesterday and then a general stats shows for the week. The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

All wordpress.COM blogs are equipped with Akismet, whether or not we post the widget. The widget is simply a bragging widget that posts how many spams have been caught. I have never posted mine and I don’t think most bloggers do.
To comprehend how huge the know spam database is that prompts Akismet to filter out known spam and not present it to us in the queue please click this link http://akismet.com/ and take note of the Live Spam Zeitgeist. Currently 83% of what’s floating around in cyberspace is spam. While you are there please read the FAQs and know that new bloggers who have few hits always sweat this but in time they stop doing so http://akismet.com/faq/ Lastely, and I do say this in a kind way you can use the forum searchbox and find the answers to Akismet questions provided by both volunteers and Staff.
Your stats questions belongs in a separate thread please, but before you post it please consult the support documentation http://support.wordpress.com/stats/

Regarding Akismet: WordPress.com now discards spam from the worst of the worst spammers. These will add to your Akismet spam counter, but you’ll never see them in your Spam folder.
Only a few of the biggest spammers are handled in this way. Everything else will show up in your Spam folder.

Oh, and you can get stats for a specific day by clicking on the dots on the graph on your main stats page.

hi Tellysworth, thanks -that’s exactly what I needed.
hi Timethief, thanks for the explanation on akismet. I didn’t see in the sticky not to post two questions on one thread but I guess you learn as you go. I checked akismet in search before and didn’t see where it answered my question. I was curious why I didn’t get to *see* the spam in my folder (Tellysworth is saying that now WP is discarding the worst of the worst). I must have gotten one of those!
Here’s what I read at the search:
Where does the spam go?
When the plugin catches something as spam it saves it in the database for 15 days in case you want to check it out manually and then automatically deletes it. In the unlikely event something gets incorrectly identified as spam you can correct it and it submits the “false positive” back to Akismet for analysis and improvement of our system. If a spam comment happens to get through and you mark it as spam within WordPress, it does the same thing. Akismet becomes more effective the more you use it. -
Greeting gigi,
I’m happy to see you got your answer. Telly said it so much better than I did and with fewer words too. :) -
