Spam referring

This morning a spam referring site spiked my stats, on just one post, to over 3,000. I blocked all the offending sites in that category (marked them as spam) but the stat count is still rising. Is this likely to continue? It ruins my stats profile! Thanks for your help with this.

Hi there-
It seems like we’re in a (possibly) similar boat here, so I’m looking for advice as well. I logged in yesterday to see a massive spike in views myself, so I tracked down the source (via the referrers link). It has come from someone posting some of my photos & blog link in a forum regarding scuba/underwater topics. The forum site is almost entirely composed of men and while there seems to be some dirty (for lack of a better term) stuff floating around, the comments that followed the sharing of my photos and blog link seem to be nice & genuine. I joined the forum and stated that I was the owner of the photos, creator of the blog, etc. They have been quite complimentary and kind thus far. (I’m a woman, by way, hence my skepticism about an all male forum). I didn’t question it at first, but now that my views have increased so much (from many, many countries), I worry that it’s not due to genuine viewers. Is this a security breach I should be concerned about? Have I created a monster by taking ownership of the photos and interacting on the forum? I don’t mind people sharing anything from my blog across the web. It’s not professional photography and would love, like any other blogger, to have more eyes on my site. Any advice here would be greatly appreciated!
Cheers,
