Spam Subscribers

  I keep having spam subscribers on my site. How do I stop this?

  Hi there,

  Can you please tell me what makes you think these are spam subscribers?

  Spam followers are a reality of blogging. We have measures in place to prevent bulk-following of sites by WordPress.com accounts, and we block automated email subscriptions, but there’s no way to prevent real humans from following your site, whatever their reason for following might be.

  I have the same problem recently. I have a small blog that no one cares about for years. Since yesterday I got already 10 followers with weird email adresses that seem to be randomly generated. All adresses end with .eu. like e.g.
  (email visible only to moderators and staff)
  (email visible only to moderators and staff)
  and so on….
  These are definitely no real people! Please help me with this.

  Thanks, folks. Are these people being removed right away, or when you go to My Site > People > Followers > Email Followers, are they still there?

  I already removed them manually. But they’re still coming. Another one just came in half an hour ago.

  Me too, I have several Subscribers, it’s cool and all but I’m not sure why because I haven’t even finished tinkering with my site yet.
