Spam trackbacks & Akismet detects phantom firewall
-
Three problems in summary:
1) Akismet claims there is a firewall. After much research there isn’t one. But Akismet cannot connect to my site.
2) I’m getting a flood of spam trackbacks.
3) Stats are also not working under my snazzylittlethings.com dasboard.Steps I’ve taken:
We have no firewalls set in our local environment. All the settings are also correct with Hostgator. I have an open ticket with Hostgator who is puttting WordPress developers on this problem. I have upgraded to 3.9 when this started happening. I pay Akismet and never once had a problem for two years until this 3.9 upgrade last week. FYI, I did all the troubleshooting, including deactivating every single plugin until the only active plugin was Jetpack. i individually tested each plugin, refreshed my blog. Nothing brought Akismet back online. I believe this is a Jetpack issue, and need some assistance. Thank you!The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)
