spam verification

    My stats tell me that Kismet has saved me from receiving spam and is 100% correct, is there a way i can review what it believes to be
    spam

  • Hi there. If you go to the WP-Admin dashboard and select Comments you can view messages currently in your spam queue by clicking the Spam link at the top of the page.

    However, I’d advise against doing this. Not all spam is machine generated and the spam created by actual people can be pretty darn convincing, and once you click on one to approve it, the floodgates open and suddenly your comments are overrun with them.

    Akismet is very good at what it does. In over two years of blogging I’ve only had it filter one legitimate comment while successfully preventing thousands of actual spam comments from polluting my blog. Unless a reader specifically contacts you and says their comments aren’t appearing and might be in spam, trust Akismet to do what it was made to do. You’ll spare yourself many headaches later.
