Spammers have infiltrated my blog! Ads on illustrations within a post.

    Urgent
Spammers have made it through on my blog. Ads are being displayed on the illustrations within the posts. Below is a link to a post just published today. Ads on both illustrations and they were uploaded, not pulled in by links. Your attention is so very much needed and appreciated.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • That’s part of a new ad program we’re testing on a few blogs in WordAds. I have disabled it on your blog.

Is there anything in particular you didn’t like about the ads, or was it just the fact that they’re partially over the photos in general?

Hello macmanx. Thank you for responding and inquiring as to my objections. The Neighborhood – as thepublicblogger.com is known internally – is a collaborative of artist. Each illustration is from an artist I have personally invited to showcase their work, taking care to provide the links to their sites and their names in the credits. So putting those ads is intrusive on multiple levels, but the number of illustrations in each post, adding those ads, made The Neighborhood resemble a Spamville that had taken over. So I am not bashing the entire concept, I understand online real estate and the need to create space for the vital revenue streams, but for visual blogs, having ads on each print is a site killer. Thank you again for supporting my request so quickly. Another reason why WordPress is the most dynamic blogging platform. In fact, no other source comes close. – KP

  • You’re welcome, and I’m sorry the new type of ad was more of a nuisance on your blog.

No worries whatsoever. Once I discovered it was you guys, all was good. I moved to WordPress from blogger, been here over a year now, and knowing there are 65 millions bloggers using this platform, only heightens my admiration for WordPress. I have always been treated with courteousness, respect and made to feel that The Neighborhood is valued and is at home here. That is very important to me, a ‘we are glad you are here’ is the unwritten motto of thepublicblogger.com. I enjoyed our communication, and the pleasure was mine.

  • Wonderful, that’s great to hear! :)
