spammy looking incoming links

    when I click on the links, I get a ‘page not found’ message. i’m guessing it’s spam-I have 3 of these, which suddenly appeared the other day. any way to prevent this or no? also, is it in any way harmful to my blog? thanks. :)

    If it’s a Page Not Found, looks like they linked then took it down. Can you strip off the last bit of the URL and go to the main page of their website and click around to see if your content is still there?

    There is NO way to prevent people from linking to you. If you think it’s a spam site using trackbacks to draw people to their site, just mark the trackbacks as Spam comments and Akismet will learn.

    yeah, I tried it and got a page not found msg again. they’re very spammy (urcar.info) type stuff….there isn’t even a valid site at all. thanks for the advice. :)
