Special character

When I am posting dimensions, I use (w) for width but it always comes out as the wordpress symbol. How do I stop this?
WP.com: Yes
Correct account: YesThe blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

It seems to be because you are putting W inside brackets as (W) but it doesn’t do it if you leave a space between the bracket and the W like ( W ). Even so let’s ask staff if the W within brackets always leading to the WordPress logo is expected behaviour.

Hey there,
It looks like (w) is the mark up for the WordPress icon emoji.
It’s possible to deactivate emojis here: https://gnomeskitchensa.wordpress.com/wp-admin/options-writing.php > untick ” Convert emoticons like :-) and :-P to graphics on display ”
I hope this helps.
