Spectrum Theme

I am hoping to switch the location of the page list with the location of h2 through the use of the css. I would like the site description to be located to the right of the main title & the page list to be where the site description currently is. Is there any way to do this without pushing the post area down?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

This won’t work out well since there is no overall “container” or “wrapper” for this theme and the menu and the “tagline/site-description are in different divs. What it means is if we move them, the content is going to shift up or down in relationship to those two items depending on whether you are logged in or not (admin bar present). If the site had an overall wrapper then that could be declared “position relative” and the other two elements would position in relationship to that overall wrapper.

So if you want to do this, you have to decide, do you want everything aligned right for people who are NOT logged into wordpress, or do you want everything aligned right for people who ARE logged into wordpress.

    Why not choose another theme?

@ thesacredpath- thanks for the info. I am new at this stuff.
    @ timethief- I probably will.

You are welcome. Thee aren’t many themes that are done like spectrum, so the likelihood of picking another that would have this same issue is not high.

    @ sacred path:

I have decided to switch back to the twenty ten theme, but I like the “ribbons” around the header (green around the h3) in the main content/post area and around the sidebar titiles (tan). Any idea how to apply that same idea in the twenty ten theme? I can’t remember where I saw that in the Spectrum theme. I want to say in the API key under “edit profile”, but I’m not sure.

You can certainly apply background colors to the post and widget titles, but taking the ones from spectrum might be a little more difficult. There is quite a bit of CSS involved and trying to ferret all that out and adapt it over to twenty ten might be difficult. There are some specific IDs and classes that were included in the markup and CSS for the image elements that do not exist in twenty ten.

I have decided to settle with the Koi theme, for sure. I have selected 6 images that I have used to create an animated gif. When I upload this to the header image, it does not play; it is static. Is there a way to make this work?

The image has to be sized to the exact size in height and width, to the pixel, and then uploaded. If the image requires resizing by wordpress for the space available, it will save the resulting image as a JPG.
