Spectrum Theme CSS Help Please :)
-
Hello.
I maybe posted this in the wrong place before, so am trying again.
The theme I’m using is “Spectrum by Ignacio Ricci” – I also purchased the customize your blog package ( Custom Design) to adjust the fonts and make CSS changes, but nothing I do turns out right.
I managed to really mess up the appearance of this blog not once, but twice (interface problem between chair and keyboard maybe) and as I do know some CSS I cannot figure out WHY?
I want to make the H1 tag and other tags not automatically be all CAPS. That, right now is my main question. I need someone to give me the actual code to put in that custom CSS box to over-ride what the theme is programmed for.
Any help out there?
The Blog I am referring to: Prairieland Food
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

The blog linked to your username is wearing the Beach theme. Please post an active link starting with http:// to the blog wearing the Spectrum theme that you need help with.

Actually it is there, at the end of the post:

No problem, that is usually my trick.
I thought when I purchased the custom thing to be able to change Fonts and CSS, my problems would be over. No so TONTO! Yikes. Heh…
Now, asking for some nice person to bail me out.
timethief – thanks so much for your attention to this matter, in advance.

Hi again,
Thanks for being gracious. It was a stupid oversight on my part. I don’t help with CSS but either Staff or the Volunteer who helps with CSS will help you when they log-in. Please be patient while waiting for that to happen. -

This will take all h tags in the sidebar and in the content back to “normal” where it honors whether you use caps or not.
.sidebar-title h4, .entry h1, .entry h2, .entry h3, .entry h4, .entry h5 { text-transform: none; }If you want the post metadata to revert to normal as well, then add this instead.
.sidebar-title h4, .entry h1, .entry h2, .entry h3, .entry h4, .entry h5, .post-meta { text-transform: none; } -
Hello TheSacredPath.
So, can you explain the difference? Yeah, I know what meta data is but how does CAPS effect that?
…and thanks a million! :)
-
So, I used the first of the two choices and it works like a dream!
Yoda sez — Lifesaver, you are.

The post metadata (author, categories, tags) is showing in all caps as well. If you want them to be normal, then use the second code I listed which has the .post-meta selector at the end and the meta data will not be all caps.

Oooohhhh… Was that my stupid question for today, or WHAT?
OK – I’m off to give that a whirl!

Done – Aside from the Yoda thanks, thanks again.

Looks waaayyy better. Glad you were here on a Sunday too. :)

@TT, g’day to your.
@sundaywebsurfer, I see you have it added now. If you want more or less space between the header and the content/sidebar, just edit the 10px value.

Heh – well, we all know a “Yoda” is out there, eh?
The universe is a wonderful and mysterious place.OK – I’ll see what that does and if that would be of benefit. I assume this will increase the “white space” value.
Some of the post titles run into the date that reside on the same “bar” and I’ve been wondering how to get that fixed also, but wanted to ask one question at a time so as not to overwhelm anyone with my dumbness. :0

When I view the CSS for the theme I find px values for many different items.
I don’t exactly know which item you are referring to, to change and after my own tries earlier (before you have enlightened me) it was a disaster so now, ‘Ima fraidy-cat’ so you’ll have to be more specific or provide the code itself.
Sorry – is this a real pain in the behind?
-
I’m sorry, forget that bit about the px stuff. I posted that in the wrong thread. That is why I’m still not a Jedi Master.
The title running over the date is a “feature” of Spectrum as I remember reading in another thread on that subject and not likely to get fixed.
Add this to your CSS and it should take care of it though.
.main-title h3 { margin-right: 200px; }
