Spinner disabled or hidden on Contact Form 7

During the time between clicking the “Submit” button and the time the popup appears with “Thank you for your submission” the green submit button is completely static. There is no spinner, no loader, no indication that the form has been sent. This results in the user clicking the submit button many times and sending me an email saying they’re not sure if it went through.
I’ve spent hours online searching clips of code and trying them out in the HTML of my CF7 – to no avail. I have two other Contact Form 7’s on pages of my website, and they show progress and success popup just fine.
