Split: account help, customer service

  • Unknown's avatar

I had a WordPress website online at jacquelinekelly.com for many years, beginning in 2012. I still own that domain name (via bluehost) and I would like to pay you to restore my lapsed site just as it was before. Unfortunately I have not found a proof of ownership (as requested on your Account Recovery webpage) in my records. But I know that my WordPress username was jkelly, and I know my password. Please contact me via e-mail at (email visible only to moderators and staff) or at [redacted].

(Note I just made this new password jkelly002 so that I can talk to you. )

P.S. Note that when I try to log in using my old username of jkelly your site says “Account does not exist.” That is why I needed to make the new username of jkelly002 just to contact you.

  • Hi there,

Please don’t post personal contact information like your phone number here in our public forums. We don’t provide phone support on WordPress.com.

Also please don’t post into unrelated threads created by other people, as that makes it harder for us to help both you and the other person. I’ve moved your question to its own thread.

The username, jkelly, has never existed on WordPress.com, and the domain, jacquelinekelly.com, has never been hosted with us or connected to any account on WordPress.com.

That domain is registered and hosted with Bluehost.com. If you have a WordPress site at that domain, it’s using the open source WordPress software made by the community on WordPress.org. That’s something completely different from WordPress.com.

As your site is not hosted on our servers, there’s no way for you to access it via WordPress.com, and we have no access to or control over it to help you regain access.

Instead, please contact Bluehost support directly. They should be able to help you reset your admin credentials for the site so that you can log in again.c

If your hosting has expired and Bluehost took your site offline, they’re also the only people who might be able to help you restore it.
