Split: Reset tumblr import function

    Hi there :) I could use some help with importing from Tumblr as well. I disconnected WordPress from Tumblr, since I once did an import with a Tumblr that doesn’t exist anymore. Now, everytime I try to import the posts from my new Tumblr site — after the connection on the side of Tumblr is approved and I am properly logged in — the import at WordPress goes back to the url of my old Tumblr site (with the wrong number of posts…) and of course does nothing. Any idea what goes wrong? Should I do something different?

    Hi @toonvanelk, what is the Tumblr site you are wanting to import, and what is the address of the old one that keeps coming up and we are happy to take a loo for you.

    Hi @thesacredpath, well, the old one was twantumbles.tumblr.com, the new one I am trying to connect to tastesunreal.tumblr.com.

    We’re still investigating but wondering if it’s related to the issue you reported previously here: https://wordpress.com/forums/topic/tumblr-import-stuck-27/

    To clarify (just so there is no doubt) the issue is that in the past you imported content from one Tumblr account, and now you are trying to connect and import from a different Tumblr account, but still seeing the old connection, correct?

    Hi @staff-totoro! I tried to connect to my Tumblr and again it wants to import the non-existent twantumbles. This time I just let it do its thing, so it is now “in progress”. Is that what you mean?

    Oh, and I actually don’t know what you mean by the issue I supposedly reported previously. I am not in that thread?

    But yes, previously I connected to twantumbles for an import, but since that Tumblr is long gone, I now wanted to import the posts from tastesunreal, my new Tumblr.

    BTW, I saw also that the number of posts on the Tumblr it is now trying to import, is also incorrect, so that is probably the number of posts that was on the old Tumblr.

    Thanks, I am able to see that as well. I have reported this issue to our developers so they can take a closer look and investigate. It does appear that your old account is being ‘remembered’ for some reason, and preventing you from connecting to your tastesunreal account as you wish.

    I’m unsure of how long it might take to address this issue but we can give you an update here as soon as we know more. Thanks!

    Hi there, a little update: as an experiment, I added my current Tumblr to Connections, via Tools > Marketing. I could choose from both Tumblr accounts (the old, deleted Tumblr and the current one) and of course chose the current one. That seemed to be handled correctly (haven’t posted yet since). So, after that, I was hopeful that maybe the current Tumblr would now show up under Import. But alas, it still only showed the old, deleted one. Any idea when this issue can/will be dealt with?

    Just to keep anyone interested in this subject updated: as of May 20th nothing to report in regard to a fix yet. The action/status indicator is still spinning on my old Tumblr, obviously without importing anything.
