Split: secure connection failed

I’m having the same problem on https://charlielawton.com which I transferred to WordPress.com almost two weeks ago. I’ve tried the “send and email” from your help pop-up several times but got no reply. Please help.

  • Hey @ericlawtonca,

It looks like your comments were mistakenly marked spam by our detection system, I approved them and moved your inquiry here so we can take a closer look.

It looks like your domain is pointing to another server. We can remove these records and issue an SSL certificate for your domain by removing these records. To do so, visit Upgrades > Domains > [your domain] > DNS Records > Manage. From the management page we can delete these A records by selecting the Menu (three dots) next to them and choosing Delete:

I would also recommend deleting the CNAME records labeled www, and FTP.

Once these are removed, the SSL certificate should be issued automatically, but if not, feel free to let us know, and we can take another look.

    Hope this helps!

Thank you! I was getting desperate not having any way to reach you.

I have done as you suggested. Nothing happened yet, but I’m guessing that it takes a while to propagate and issue the certificate. I’ll check back tomorrow.

  • You are very welcome. It looks like there was an issue with the correct A records automatically populating after the old ones were removed. I fixed this but we will need to wait for the changes to propagate. checking back in tomorrow sounds great. Look forward to hearing from you!

Thank you. It seems OK now.

    Now to add some content.

I hope not to get caught by spam filters again. It was really frustrating.
