Spotify Album Artwork

    Hello!

    So I managed to figure out how to embed a spotify song into my post, album artwork and all, however I cannot seem to get the album artwork to be a featured image on my home page. It seems like I would have to find the album artwork myself and make it a featured image. Any ideas how to go around this? My featured image for the song link is just showing as the date the song was posted to my blog.

    Hi there,

    You are correct. The album artwork for an embedded spotify song or playlist cannot be set as the featured image, as it’s not an image that has been added to the post. It’s part of content that’s being dynamically embedded from an outside source.

    In order to have the first image in the post be used as the featured image, you need to add an actual image using the Add Media button. If you want to use the album artwork for this purpose you’ll need to download the image, either directly from Spotify or from elsewhere on the web, and then add it to the post content or explicitly set it as the featured image in the editor.
