Spotify Playlist not embedding properly (Theme retired?)

    Hi there,
    I went to upload another Spotify for my blog as I have done hundreds of times now, but I became very worried when the window with my playlist did not appear at the bottom of the blog post like normal. After doing some searching around, I found that my theme (Harmonic) had been retired. Is there any possible way that I can keep my theme and maintain the ability to post Spotify playlists in a window as I had done previously for so long? The other available themes just don’t look as good or fit the concept that I’m trying to achieve. Additionally, I’m running a music blog, so not have the ability to have the playlist window really puts a damper on my content. I appreciate the assistance! Thanks,

    Morning :)

    The embed function of Spotify should still work even if the theme is retired. I’m happy to give it a try from my side of things. Can you send along a link to the embed and let me know where you were looking to add it on the site?

    Try clearing your browser cache and checking for any browser updates.

    Hi there,

    So, it would appear there are two different Spotify links for that playlist.

    You got https://open.spotify.com/playlist/7iKra4FF0kl8uIKGoTX65e from the web app, correct?

    If I look up your playlist in the desktop app and copy the link from there, the link instead appears as https://open.spotify.com/user/1288845195/playlist/7iKra4FF0kl8uIKGoTX65e?si=EgcOZiE2SwipjYpi3suapQ, and that embeds correctly.

    It appears the mobile app (Android in my case) also gives this second version of the link.

    Looking at our code either version of the link should embed correctly on WordPress.com, so this looks like it might be a problem on Spotify’s end: when you paste in a Spotify link, we send that link to Spotify, and then they send us back the code needed to embed the playlist on your site. From what I can see we’re correctly sending them the link, but they aren’t sending us back the correct code.

    I’m following up on our end to make sure this isn’t a problem on our end, but for now, please use the desktop or mobile app to get the correct embed link instead.
