Please help!!
Does anybody know of an inexpensive web designer that can work with my request?
I love my page but the only thing i want to change is my home page. At the moment, all my recent postings show up on my home page. I actually don’t want it this way. I only want 12 highlighted posts show on my homepage and that’s it. At the moment, I’m using stickies to have the selected posts on top. Please help!!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi,
To set the number of posts to display on the posts page simply go to Settings > Reading (https://fromyyzandbeyond.wordpress.com/wp-admin/options-reading.php) and modify the setting “Blog pages show at most ___” as desired. Note, however, that the number selected here will not only determine the number of posts displayed on your home page (the posts page), but it will also determine the maximum number of posts displayed on an archives page, such as category, tag, author, date, etc. archives pages, as well as the maximum number of results shown on a keyword search results page. -
Hey there thank you so much for you help! Unfortunately I’ve tried using that and the most recent post will still show up after my stickies. As well it affects all my other pages :(

Sorry about that. I didn’t read carefully enough, and thought you just wanted the most recent dozen posts displayed.
Another idea:
First, set the number of posts to display at 12, as suggested above. If the dates are unimportant, then you could change the dates of your chosen 12 posts so that they are the most recent 12. You’d have to unsticky those presently marked sticky to make this work properly. If you have one sticky, then 13 posts will display. As well it affects all my other pages :(
If you mean archives pages and keyword search results, that’s correct.

I just realized that my second idea probably wouldn’t be satisfactory either, since any new post added after you set the 12 to display on the home page would become the top post and bump the 12th one out.

I believe it’s a CSS customization issue. I don’t know CSS coding, but I suspect someone will be able to help you with that here. You might also try resubmitting the support request to the CSS Customization forum. Or add a “modlook” tag to the sidebar of this topic to call for staff attention.

Since you have 20 sticky posts, I’m not sure how you envision your front page. Did you want only the first 12 sticky posts to show up on the front page and nothing else? (I’m not sure there is a way to do that without hiding individual sticky posts with custom CSS.) Or did you have something else in mind?

Thank you for all your efforts musicdoc1!!
Kathrynwp < I only want 12 selected posts not recent posts on my home page :) and nothing else. Yeah, I’ve spoken to a few people and I’ve been told I would need a customized layout :( boo

Since you do have custom design, let me show you how you can hide individual circles on the homepage, using CSS:
.home .post-4217, .home .post-4654 { display: none; }That would hide the last two posts – you can add as many additional ones as you want, following this format.
You can find the post ID in a few places:
– the browser address bar when you edit a post in WP Admin
– viewing your browser’s source (in Chrome, this is under View > Developer > View Source)
– right-clicking a circle and choosing “inspect element” to open the web inspector in Chrome.Let me know if this works for you.

this is a bit more time consuming but i am VERY VERY happy with the end result :) THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!!

You’re very welcome! Yes, it’s very manual but I couldn’t think of another way to achieve what you’re after. :)
