Spun theme – display social media icons
-
Hi everybody,
I am using the free version of the Spun theme. Late last year I managed to add two social media icons (Twitter and Tumblr) to the bottom right of my site page – elizabethktabi.wordpress.com.
I would now like to add to and change these icons, but for some reason, I cannot for the life of me remember how I got them to show in the first place.
Please note, I am referring to the permanently displayed icons at the bottom right of my page, not the expandable widget section (identifiable by a ‘+’ sign) which is just above it.Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks,
Eliz. The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Okay, sod’s law that I figure it out straight after I ask the question, but hopefully what I type below can help other people nonetheless.
You need to connect your social media sites to your WordPress account/blog via the Settings>Sharing option in WP Admin.
After that, you go to your Customizer (or Appearance>Customize in WP Admin) and select ‘Connect’, where you then choose the accounts you’d like to display symbols for in your page footer.
Unfortunately, Instagram isn’t included, which I believe is due to not being able to post from WordPress to Instagram. However, you can use a widget for that. Here’s the link to the WordPress.com support page that helped me: https://en.support.wordpress.com/menus/social-links-menu/.
Best of luck!
Eliz.
