SQL Problems importing from wordpress.COM to wordpress.ORG
-
Hello,
I am trying to migrate and import content from junesees.wordpress.com to the new site blog.junesees.com.
I have imported the .xml filed however it did not import all of the drafts and published blog posts on ‘junesees.wordpress.com
I used the WP official .xml importer.
I’ve spoken to my hosting agent and they think it’s an incomplete .SQL database that could be causing the problem.
I was advised by the IT agent to try out a plugin that backs up and downloads a .sql file however there were several error messages.
Would anyone be able to look and see if it is a .sql database that is causing the problem?

I’m Sorry. The blog I need help with is: blog.junesees.com
The IP address link does not seem to work. -
Hi @supernovia, I think they meant the database from junesees.wordpress.com to blog.junesees.com is incomplete. They kept referring to.
I’m so sorry I can’t remember! I am not technically savvy.
Yes please, if you could kindly redo the export, that would help me a lot.

Thanks @supernovia!
Do I need to delete any existing posts that are on the blog.junesees.com and start from scratch importing the .xml files you sent me?
Or just use imported the files anyway with the WordPress importer?

You can do whichever seems best. Maybe make a backup of what you’ve got now, import, then if it doesn’t work well, clear it and try again.
Personally I tend to just import over existing posts unless I’m having some kind of problem.
