Square photo theme?

  Hi,
  My blog is all about scrapbooking and mainly my picture are in square shape.

  There are many super nice themes but any of then are not supporting square photos. I have CSS upgrade but as you know it doesn’t help me with this one.

  Would it be possible to get clean and stylish theme with square photos?

  Hi Hanna – It depends on what you’re after, but note that with any theme, you can use the tiled or the square format for your galleries as shown here:

  If you’re looking for a theme that shows square images on the front page, you might try these:

  Hi,
  sorry, I wasn’t clear with my issue.

  So, all my pictures are in square. And I would like that on front page would show it as it (=square).

  I tested visual/hatch/frontfolio but no, they don’t show pictures as square. The only theme that shows picture as square (that I have found) is forever.

  I would love to use Bromley, it is great but I don’t want that my pictures are cut down!

  Using wordpress.com is so handy expect this :(

  Hi Hanna – I’m sorry, but I’m still not sure I understand what you’re seeing. Could you put please put one of the themes back that doesn’t show your pictures properly, so I can take a look? You might also make me a screenshot of what you’re seeing.

  Hei again :)
  there is “picture” in my media library that explain what I see and what is my problem. Hope you can see it and get an idea what i’m talking about (my english would need some training but I’m a bit lazy with language courses). Have a nice weekend.

  Hi Hanna – Ok, thank you, that clears it up. :)

  The difference is what size the theme shows your images at. With Bromley, the post thumbnails are shown at 261 pixels wide on the front page, and their height adjusts depending on your content. The images are automatically adjusted to best display at that width.

  This is how all of the themes that you’ve mentioned work — they’re actually using Featured Images.

  For Bromley, you could try resizing your images to 261px wide before uploading them to make sure that the entire image is displayed. You can read more tips from the theme author about this here:
